New Beginnings

February 25th, 2010

I’ve not posted here in some time, in ages it seems. I have been posting elsewhere, on a new domain. I’m not sure what’s going to happen to True Grey, but hopefully I’ll think of something for it. In the mean time, I have moved to a new location at:

>>>>> megan-thomas.com/blog.

megan-thomas.com will be home to my Illustration portfolio whilst the blog will cover everything I wanted to cover here, but didn’t; Fashion, Illustration, Design. I hope there is still life in truegrey yet, I just don’t know in what form.

Please adjust your links, bookmarks, RSS readers and the like to the new address as this blog is now come to an end. Thank you for reading and hope to see you on the otherside.

Ooh La La!

October 25th, 2009

I am making a return to the world of blogging, finally having access to the internet via university (yes, I’ve gone back again, I think I shall remain a student forever I enjoy it so much!). Much has happened since I last posted, including a move back to the country, starting uni as said before, a new boyfriend and various other bits and bobs. I have been rather busy with it all and have barely been home, nevermind able to set up an internet connection at home! But that is also coming soon!

In the mean time, I am off to Paris on friday for a weekend away with my gorgeous boyfriend! I have a feeling I may not want to come back to England after this, but such is life. Perhaps upon graduation I shall flit my wings and move abroad once again. Perhaps I will even look at transferring to a European academy for my second year, though the three years will fly by as they do as you (depressingly) age.

I have not done much in the way of illustrations in the last while, not having time between uni and a complete lack of inspiration. But as I’m doing a degree in Visual Arts and Design, I shall be motivated soon enough (why didn’t I do this degree the 1st time round?!)!

I am tempted to take my laptop with me, as I shall have wi-fi access in the hotel, so I could perhaps blog my way around Paris? We shall see… I don’t think Chris (the new beau) has blogging in mind in the city of romance, but perhaps I could sneak some in!

So, to say the least, I shall be returning to blogging shortly though perhaps my blog shall take a new look on things… fashion, travel, illustration all packed into one. All I know is the blog needs a major overhaul however you look at it!

See you on the otherside!

*runs off to pack for Paris… yes, I am that pendantic*

Back to Blogging, once again…

July 1st, 2009

Right, this time I mean it. I’m back and blogging after a rather long absence. My boyfriend and I split up and I’ve moved. I still haven’t got reliable internet access, but will try my best to get it sorted as soon as possible.

In other news, I am heading back to University come september to do a degree in Design with a pathway in Illustration so you can expect more illustration related posts here than in the past amongst the fashion and design posts.

I will be back soon with a worthy post, trust me!

Busy Busy Busy Bee

April 28th, 2009

As I begin to feel creative again, several things happen to make me too busy to complete anything!

From babies being born (three in the last two days!! I have far too many pregnant friends!) and me and the boy are moving this weekend into the new house. Meaning, between hospital visits and packing, I have very little time to myself. It’s always the way, it seems, everything happens at once.

SO, that said, I HOPEFULLY will be back soon once the dust settles and I get my life back to myself.

back from ol’ Ecosse

April 23rd, 2009

I’ve returned from Scotland, rejuivinated and full of ideas. I suppose it’s what I needed, a little holiday.

Below, I’ve posted some of the photos I took (I took a lot more of “inspirations” and “shapes” and what not that will probably bore you, so I’m not going to post them here). I know some of them are rather repetitive, but I can asure you that they are all different. :P

Enjoy, and I shall be back shortly with some new ideas and new work to share!

Liverpool? Dazed & Confused? Um. What?

April 14th, 2009

I also forgot to mention, upon checking up on Liverpool Fashion Week’s website, I found it has not been updated from the state I found it in. Nor is there any information that I can find elsewhere. So… Liverpool Fashion Week, I suppose it was a bit of a fail in the sense no one feels it’s worth posting about it elsewhere. Maybe next year? Maybe not… Perhaps I’ll try to take a visit to it’s “bigger sister” London Fashion Week next season. Atleast it’ll offer something to blog about.

On another note, has anyone else noticed that magazines such as Dazed and Confused and Pop are located amongst the mens magazines like Nuts and other titty magazines. Why is this? Why would any merchandiser think D&C fits amongst dirty mens mags? Is this the same amongst any of your local news agents? It just baffles me and slightly embarrasses me to be seen browsing amongst these smutty magazines (and not in the good way).

And I’m back!

April 14th, 2009

Well, sort of… I’ve not been up to much fashion/illustration-wise in ages and as I keep saying, I’m not inspired at all. I’m at a place in my life where I’m asking myself what I want to do with my life and the answer comes up unknown time and time again. I’m rather depressed about everything at the moment. Nothing’s really peaking my interest and I just feel so… blah. I have so many dreams but I just cannot be bothered making the effort to fulfill them which sounds just as bad in my head as it does as I read it back here.

I toy with the ideas of going back to university, to study what, I’m not sure.

I toy with so many ideas.

Pfff.

I’ll get my head sorted, eventually. I hope.

In the mean time, as I said, I was ill all last week and then my internet started acting up and now I’m back. I went to Southport over the Easter Weekend for a day out by the seaside which was lovely. I took some photos, which can be seen below. Don’t mind the poor images, as I only had my mobile’s camera on me so the resolution isn’t the best.

I shall post again soon… hopefully about something related to the subject I originally had set out for this blog. :/

And now…

April 10th, 2009

I finally get better from flu-death and now my internet is acting up. Be back as soon as it’s sorted (bloody bank holidays, making things impossible to sort). <:(

April 3rd, 2009

I’ve been very poorly this week. Will be back when I’m better. :(

Before I head off for the weekend…

March 26th, 2009

As I won’t be around this weekend to post, I thought I’d write a quick little note to keep your dosage levels of Megan stable…

While I’ve had possibly the laziest last two days I’ve ever had, literally lying in bed all day watching Mad Men, Ugly Betty and Project Runway Canada (all via Torrents), I did manage to make it out to the shops yesterday for a quick gander (I had to post some parcels from eBay), and managed to find my dream item in a charity shop. I managed to find a lovely black leather Filofax for all of £1! I’ve been lusting after a Filofax for ages but could never bring myself to pay the rather high prices they demand (this particular model is £44 and they go up from there) so have always relegated myself to disposable canvas diaries to keep track of my life. It’s only a simple black one, but I’m so pleased with it as, finally, I have a real in-leather Filofax. Call me old fashioned for using a paper diary instead of my mobiles planner settings, I don’t care! I’m in love, so easily in love.

Whilst I was in the same charity shop, I also found a lovely little china pot as can be seen above, which reminded me of a Louis Vuitton scarf print that I quite liked from a couple of years ago. Again, it was only a pound and will be a great little holder for my various earrings, rings and bangles.

So, two lazy deals but to lovely little deals were also to be had.

I’m off to Sheffield this weekend to see my brothers band, so see you on the otherside, hopefully I’ll have something to blog about (I really need to get my arse in gear).
